Shadow Mountain Estates Home

Sitka logs, timber frame, and insulated concrete walls were incorporated to create this energy-efficient, green-built hybrid home. In conjunction with the energy-efficient heat system, passive solar techniques were used to place this home for the best solar energy gain. Water wise technology, metal-wrapped door jams, metal fascia and soffit, metal roof and railing, epoch decking were taken into account for lower maintenance and increased efficiency.

Logs for the stairs, railings, and corner accents were salvaged from Grand County property.

Natural 1-1/2" slate and reclaimed antique barnwood flooring.

1/2-log and log plank stairs were hand-honed and scribed in the field.
